Sean Walsh - Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Bowdoin College

Sean Walsh was named assistant coach for the Bowdoin College men's ice hockey team in the summer of 2022, joining head coach Ben Guite behind the bench for the 2022-23 season. A Maine native and University of Maine graduate, Walsh brings a wealth of experience and a deep hockey pedigree to the Polar Bears. Most recently, he was part of the coaching staff at the University of New England, where he helped lead the Nor'easters to a record-setting 2021-22 season and their first-ever Division III semifinal appearance. Prior to that, Walsh served as assistant coach and interim head coach for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL. He began his coaching career as an undergraduate at the University of Maine, working as a video coordinator and statistical analyst for the Black Bears from 2017-21. Walsh, a 2022 graduate with a degree in Political Science, comes from a legendary hockey family, including his father Shawn Walsh, former head coach at Maine, his brother Travis, who played at Michigan State, and his brother Tyler, currently the head coach at Gustavus Adolphus. Jim Ward - Head Coach Men’s Ice Hockey Connecticut College

Jim Ward recently completed his 21st season as head coach of the Connecticut College men’s ice hockey program in 2023-24, cementing his legacy as one of the most impactful coaches in the team’s history. Under his leadership, the Camels achieved a historic breakthrough in 2017-18, finishing second in the NESCAC standings—the program’s highest-ever finish—and sweeping the league’s major awards. That season, sophomore goalie Connor Rodericks earned NESCAC Player of the Year honors and became the program’s first CoSIDA Academic All-American and ACHA All-American. Ward’s coaching prowess was further highlighted in 2019-20 when the Camels defeated then-No. 1 Trinity in a historic 1-0 victory, marking one of the program’s most significant wins. Ward, a two-time NESCAC Coach of the Year (2014, 2018), has also led the Camels to numerous milestones, including their first home playoff game and semifinal appearance in 2014-15. Off the ice, Ward has been a driving force in community engagement, spearheading initiatives like the annual “Green Dot Game” to raise awareness about preventing sexual violence and supporting organizations such as Team IMPACT and the Headway Foundation. With over 32 years of coaching experience, Ward’s career spans from the prep level to NCAA Division I, including stints as an assistant coach at Princeton University and Union College, where he played a key role in the program’s transition to Division I. A graduate of SUNY Geneseo, Ward captained the Ice Knights and earned All-SUNYAC and All-NYCHA honors. He holds a master’s degree in athletic and physical education administration from Norwich University, where he began his coaching career and helped lead the Cadets to the NCAA Tournament. Ward’s dedication to both hockey and community service continues to shape the Connecticut College program and its student-athletes.

Tyler Walsh - Head Coach Men’s Hockey at Gustavus Adolphus College

Tyler Walsh was named the 20th head coach of the Gustavus men's hockey program on April 11, 2024, becoming just the fourth head coach in the program’s last 60 years. He joins a storied Gustavus program with 14 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championships, five playoff titles, and six NCAA tournament appearances, including a national runner-up finish in 2009. Walsh comes to Gustavus after six years as assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator at Colby College (Maine), where he helped lead the Mules to five NESCAC playoff appearances and a 2022 regular season championship, earning NESCAC Men's Ice Hockey Staff of the Year honors. With a coaching career that includes roles at the University of Maine, Canisius College, USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program, and North Yarmouth Academy, Walsh brings a wealth of experience. He also comes from a renowned hockey family, with his father, Shawn Walsh, winning two national championships at Maine, and his grandfather, Ron Mason, a U.S. Hockey Hall of Famer, amassing 924 career wins at Lake Superior State, Bowling Green, and Michigan State. A Lansing, Mich., native, Walsh holds a degree from the University of Maine and a master’s from Thomas College.

Dustin Good - Head Coach at New York University

Dustin Good enters his second season as head coach of the New York University Men’s Hockey team in 2024-25, building on a successful first year where he helped the program achieve its best winning percentage since joining ACHA Division 1 in 2017-18. Prior to NYU, Good revitalized the hockey program at his high school alma mater, Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School in Pennsylvania, restoring its prominence in the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Canadian boarding school circuits over three seasons while also serving as the school’s director of admissions. Good’s coaching career began with the Binghamton Jr. Senators youth and junior programs, followed by roles with the Jersey Wildcats and Montclair Kimberley Academy in New Jersey, and later at the Tilton School in New Hampshire. A USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach, Good brings over 15 years of teaching and coaching experience to the ice. Outside of hockey, he works as a high school history teacher at an independent school in Manhattan, blending his passion for education and athletics to inspire his players both on and off the ice.

John, a native of Aston, PA, joined the Ice Dawgs coaching staff in 2017, bringing over 30 years of hockey experience across various levels, including High School, Middle School, Tier III Junior, Junior B, and University Club programs in Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. A USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach, John’s dedication and expertise were recognized in 2022 when he was honored with the College Hockey South Coach of the Year Award by his peers. His extensive background and commitment to the sport continue to make a significant impact on the Ice Dawgs program.
